How It Started

Founder, Erin DiCarlo, has dedicated her career to helping seniors and their families transition from home. As a Certified Senior Advisor, Senior Living Options Specialist, and Certified Dementia Practitioner, Erin witnessed first hand how the process is segmented and time consuming for family members and the senior facing a major life transition.

Many times finances cause the process to halt while families try to figure out how to pay for the new setting while the home is being dealt with and listed for sale. Many people find themselves “stuck” and unable to move forward in the process. After years of experiencing this situation with clients Erin was determined to find a personal, streamlined resource for seniors.

Erin has created Dovetail Financial to provide one point of contact a family can contact when needing financial help during a difficult time in their life. Our approach is simple, we get to know our client’s unique needs and create a lending process that works best for them. All lending is done in house without the use of banks or institutions which allows for flexibility and shorter turn around times.

Steven Blum, Lending Director, is an attorney by training, specializing in providing commercial real estate bridge loans. Steven has also been an active real estate developer and business investor; advising both business owners and banks regarding various aspects of business finance. Steven is currently is an adjunct professor at Quincy College.

On the personal side, Steven is an “empty nester” who lives with his wife, dogs, and has several children and grandchildren. He has recent experience supporting his parents and in-laws transitioning later in life.

Steven is very pleased to be contributing to Dovetail Financial and looks forward to using his extensive background in finance to help seniors in transition.
